I cannot thank the staff of Sun Dog Cat Moon enough for what they did for my dog, Camden.  When I stopped by for their Open House, I had the great pleasure of meeting everyone, and subsequently made the decision to put the care of my beloved children in their hands.

One of those two children is a rescue sheltie that was picked up on the highway to the airport in Charlotte.  She has struggled mightily as she has aged with mobility, asking in recent months to be carried up and down the stairs.  After visiting Dr. Roberts and undergoing acupuncture and laser treatments, she was able not only to climb the house stairs, but also to walk around the block for the first time in three years!!!

I am so appreciative of everyone's hard work at Sun Dog Cat Moon to give me my 11 "ish" dog back.  She now plays (as much as a senior citizen would) and ventures out on walks (as much as her highness decides to go!).  I was never a believer in alternative therapies before, but certainly can vouch for their affectiveness now!!!

My sincere gratitude goes to Dr. Roberts and all at Sun Dog Cat Moon for their loving care and for prolonging this very special dog's too-short life.

I wanted to share with you a letter from a colleague and client about her Dog Jake:

My 12 year old black Lab, Jake, has end stage/ terminal kidney failure. Being a veterinarian myself I know he doesn’t have much time left with me. I tried many treatments to make his transition comfortable, but with limited benefit. Ultimately, I want him to be comfortable, and having experienced the benfits of acupuncture myself, I decided to pursue this option for him. Luckily I knew that Dr. Ruth Roberts was currently offering acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and nutrition consultations. This was a perfect solution because I have always admired Ruth Roberts, not only as a veterinarian and colleague, but as a kind, compassionate person. Dr. Roberts has been so kind and understanding with Jake. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results of her treatment and care. Jake is currently eating very well everyday because of the acupuncture, Chinese herbs and diet she recommended. Jake is no longer vomiting and he is happy with lots of energy. Dr. Ruth Roberts has been devoted to Jake’s progress. I am forever in her debt for what she’s helped him to achieve. I no longer see Jake as the dying dog I love, but now I see a vibrant dog LIVING a great life!!! All my Thanks to Ruth Roberts, DVM!!!

They are very kind words, and it is always a joy to see a wonderful dog that doesn't feel well become a wonderful dog that feels great!!!!The great thing is that Jake no longer needs IV fluids every other week, and the amount of western medicines is markedly reduced. For those of you with pets that have suffered from kidney disease, you understand that his progress is a gift and must feel like a miracle to his owner. Chinese medicine and Acupuncture in particular are energy based medicines, and while it does take knowledge and the ability to apply the knowledge to practice them well, I like to remind myself and my clients that I am only a conduit of that energy. News soon on our Full service integrative practice.
Cheers - Dr. Ruth
